What is the plan?

Hello! I'm Row, the founder of the Ararat Women's Shed (and surrounds). The Ararat Women’s Shed was established in 2026 (yes, we’re brand new!) to create a safe, inclusive “shed” where women can meet regularly, learn practical skills and build social connection to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing.

Over the next three years we’re working towards becoming a recognised local hub for women’s social connection, lifelong learning and practical problem-solving that complements existing neighbourhood house and community services. I'm also actively looking for the right 'shed' space for us, and it's been awesome to see some of my mates and colleagues rally so hard to set up introductions and share ideas to find us a home.

Our first couple of meetings (time and venue to be confirmed shortly) will focus on forming a committee, kicking off a sewing circle, planning our first classes and mapping out the year’s activities together.
