Callout to local women

A new community space for women has officially began in Ararat, with the launch of the Ararat Women’s Shed.
Founder and President Rowena Murray said the idea had gathered strong momentum, with overwhelming local support prompting an earlier-than-planned launch. The group is affiliated with the national Women’s Shed Association, which works closely with the Australian Men’s Shed Association.
Ms Murray said the Ararat Women’s Shed would offer a welcoming, supportive space where women can learn new skills, share knowledge and work on projects together.
“We want regular get-togethers where women can connect, learn and create,” she said.
